"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill @ Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
WHAT I AM EAGERLY ANTICIPATING:
Title: Alias Hook
Author: Lisa Jensen
Expected Release Date: July 8th 2014
From Goodreads: "Every child knows how the story ends. The wicked pirate captain is flung overboard, caught in the jaws of the monster crocodile who drags him down to a watery grave. But it was not yet my time to die. It's my fate to be trapped here forever, in a nightmare of childhood fancy, with that infernal, eternal boy."
Meet Captain James Benjamin Hook, a witty, educated Restoration-era privateer cursed to play villain to a pack of malicious little boys in a pointless war that never ends. But everything changes when Stella Parrish, a forbidden grown woman, dreams her way to the Neverland in defiance of Pan’s rules. From the glamour of the Fairy Revels, to the secret ceremonies of the First Tribes, to the mysterious underwater temple beneath the Mermaid Lagoon, the magical forces of the Neverland open up for Stella as they never have for Hook. And in the pirate captain himself, she begins to see someone far more complex than the storybook villain.
With Stella’s knowledge of folk and fairy tales, she might be Hook’s last chance for redemption and release if they can break his curse before Pan and his warrior boys hunt her down and drag Hook back to their neverending game. Alias Hook by Lisa Jensen is a beautifully and romantically written adult fairy tale.
WHY I AM EAGERLY ANTICIPATING IT:
Mostly because I am a bit obsessed with Hook from ABCs Once Upon a Time, but also, sometimes it nice to read a story from the "bad" guys point of view.
Are you waiting for this one?
Have you had a chance to read it already, what did you think?
What are you eagerly anticipating this week?
I have this from Netgalley and I'm planning to read it after I finish with the book I'm reading at the moment!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get a chance to read it soon :)

I hope you enjoy it and I look forward to seeing what you think.
DeleteHave a lovely week Milka.
Yeah, I was just going to say the only reason I want to read it is because of Hook from Once Upon a Time. ;)

I haven't read the original story yet, so perhaps I will pick that up and read it before this.
DeleteHave a great day Krystianna.
Oh wow! I am so excited to read this. I am a HUGE fan of Peter Pan after reading Jodi Lynn Anderson's retelling with Tiger Lily. Thanks for making me aware of this!
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome :-)
DeleteI really like the cover of this one! I am not sure if I'd be interested in reading, because I am not huge on retellings, but I will keep it on my radar for sure. Thanks for sharing it :)
ReplyDelete-Shannon @ It Starts At Midnight.
