Waiting on Wednesday: Hansel and Gretel

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill @ Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

WHAT I AM EAGERLY ANTICIPATING:

Title: Hansel and Gretel
Author: Neil Gaiman ans Lorenzo Mattotti
Expected Release Date: 28th October 2014

From Goodreads: Best-selling author Neil Gaiman and fine artist Lorenzo Mattotti join forces to create "Hansel & Gretel, "a stunning book that's at once as familiar as a dream and as evocative as a nightmare. Mattotti's sweeping ink illustrations capture the terror and longing found in the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale. Neil Gaiman crafts an original text filled with his signature wit and pathos that is sure to become a favorite of readers everywhere, young and old

WHY I AM EAGERLY ANTICIPATING IT:

A Neil Gaiman fairytale retelling? Yes please.

Sunday Post: Weekly Wrap-Up (11/05/14)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

THIS WEEK ON MY BLOG:

WHAT I READ THIS WEEK:

Dreams of Gods and Monsters by Laini Taylor

I think I am in a bit of a reading slump, as Dreams of Gods and Monsters is the only book I have read this week and at the time of writing this, I am still reading it. If it wasn't such a highly anticipated read, I don't think I would be reading anything at all.

ADDITIONS TO MY TBR THIS WEEK:
Stacking the Shevles hosted @ Tynga's Reviews

PHYSICAL

Z for Zachariah by Robert C. O'Brien

This is one of the two books that I remember reading in school, the other one being Animal Farm. This book has stuck with me for the past 20ish years and I have been meaning to buy it for a while but never got around to it. It is being made into a movie, starring my future husband Chris Pine, and I am super excited about that, so I finally did buy it and I can't wait to read it again. I hope it has the same effect on me now as it did when I was a teen.

THIS WEEK IN REAL LIFE:

Finally started taking exam revision seriously and now I am scared.
On a positive note I saw both Divergent and Captain America: The Winter Soldier again and they were both equally as good the second time around. My friend who I went to the movies with, has not read the Divergent book but she really enjoyed it, loved Four and hated Peter, and she now wants to read the books.
Oh, and I finally got to see The Vampire Academy movie and haha, I am glad I did not go to the cinema to see it. I will say no more because some people loved it.

NEXT WEEK ON MY BLOG:

As this week, I don't really have the time to write reviews right now, because as you know, they take lots of brain power, thinking, writing and rewriting.  So I will just be sticking to simple meme posts and scheduling them in advance.

Waiting on Wednesday: The Truth is a Cave in the Black Mountains

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill @ Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

WHAT I AM EAGERLY ANTICIPATING:

Title: The Truth is a cave in the Black Mountains
Author: Neil Gaiman and Eddie Campbell
Expected Release Date: 17th June 2014

From Goodreads: You ask me if I can forgive myself?
I can forgive myself . . .

And so begins The Truth Is a Cave in the Black Mountains, a haunting story of family, the otherworld, and a search for hidden treasure. This gorgeous full-color illustrated book version was born of a unique collaboration between New York Times bestselling author Neil Gaiman and renowned artist Eddie Campbell, who brought to vivid life the characters and landscape of Gaiman's award-winning story. In this volume, the talents and vision of two great creative geniuses come together in a glorious explosion of color and shadow, memory and regret, vengeance and, ultimately, love.

. . . for many things. For where I left him.
For what I did.

WHY I AM EAGERLY ANTICIPATING IT:

Neil Gaiman. That is all.

THIS WEEK IN REAL LIFE:

Found a house, yay! So, hopefully I should be all moved by this time next month. I have already packed all my books, so I will only be reading library and Kindle books till I have moved into the new house. This is a good thing as I have so many unread Kindle books.
Went and saw The Amazing Spiderman 2 and it was alright. I did enjoy it, it just didn't blow me away, I found the bad guys to be lacking in badness. And the mid-credits scene, what is that all about? I know both movie franchises are Marvel but unless they plan to crossover/merge in the future, I don't see the point.
