Sunday Post: Weekly Wrap-Up (20/4/14)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted @ Caffeinated BookReviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

This week on my Blog:

It's Monday! What Are You Reading?
Top Ten Tuesday: Bookish Things I want To Own
DNF Review: The Serpent of Venice by Christopher Moore
Waiting On Wednesday: Fool's Assassin
Mini Reviews: Into The Still Blue & Sever
Review: Fire & Flood by Victoria Scott
This Here Sunday Post

What I read this week:

This week I finished two trilogies and started a new series, and I enjoyed them all.

Additions to my TBR this week.

Stacking The Shelves hosted @ Tynga's Reviews

I didn't buy any physical books or go to the library this week, but...

I did receive a book I won from Goodreads First Reads

It is a non-fiction, that I think is about how British colonization has screwed up the world. Maybe not that dramatic, but I will see when I read it.

And I went on a bit of a Kindle freebie shopping spree.

Ember-X is the saucier version of Ember and Shattered Promises the saucier version of The Fallen Star. I look forward to seeing how the two versions compare.

This week in real life:

A very uneventful and boring week, aside from the good reading and TV shows. A Hook centric episode of OUAT - Love it and I love him, although I am getting bored of his pirate get up and really want to see him in jeans and a t-shirt. Still not over what Ward is up to in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, and I want Coulson and May to kiss and make up already, but if she isn't up to kissing him, I will happily do it for her ;-) Oh and the purple Wedding in GOT was wonderful, so glad the lil shit bit it, I have read the books up to A Feast for Crows and I don't remember if it has been revealed who did it up to then, but whoever it is deserves a medal.

Next week on my blog:

It's Monday! What I am reading?
Top Ten Tuesday:

Next week in real Life:

My final essay is due on Wednesday but I also get my student finance payment that day too, so I will be finally going to go see Captain America: The Winter Soldier. If I have time I will also see Vampire Academy as it is released here that day. I will also get serious about exam revision because the exam dates are getting closer and I need to get a decent grade to pass, I do not want to repeat any classes next year.

I hope everyone else had a great week and that next week will be equally as great or better.

  1. I got Deviant and the Liliana Hart too (though I've read reviews of Dirty little secrets stating that it wasn't that good and badly edited ? Haven't read it yet). Have a great week !

    1. Hey, oh dear! I am not really into murder mysteries but I got this one as it seemed more interesting than most :-/ I guess I will have to look at those reviews to see if it is worth a try. Have a great week yourself.

    1. Yes! I am definitely excited about having some money :-) I hope Ghosts of Empire is interesting and useful - I am taking colonization & post-colonization in uni next year, so hopefully this book will give me a head start. With kindle freebie shopping, you get the joy of buying new books without the stress of spending money ;-)
You have a great week too.

  4. Looks like you got a nice bunch of books. I'm trying to stay away from the free ones because I have no idea when I would have a chance to read them. My TBR pile is already so high that I would have reading material for 8 years even if nothing else arrived. Despite that, come see what I got at Ms. Martin Teaches Media and Inside of a Dog. Happy reading!

  7. I like your Wow pick last week, I think Robin Hobb is a fantastic writer and the Fitz stories are favorites of mine. So glad to see this book coming. The Purple Wedding was great, and yes it is kinda known who did it- the first time I read the series it wasn't super obvious but later I figured it out (or got spoiled by the inter nets- don't remember which!).

Captain America is awesome, hope you love it. Have a great week!

    1. Yay! Someone else who loves Fitz, this book release cannot come soon enough.
Well, whoever is responsible for that awful child turning purple deserves all the awards ;-)
I love the first CA, so I am certain I will love this one too.
Ihope you have a great week.
